What is Thryvia?
Thryvia™ is a precision postbiotic ingredient made from heat-inactivated Clostridium tyrobutyricumASM19™ produced through controlled fermentation. The finished ingredient is non-living and conveniently provided in shelf-stable capsule form for on-the-go daily use. It does not require refrigeration.
In a human perception study of Thryvia™, 81% of participants reported a moderate-to-significant improvement in digestive health, as measured by the study’s outcomes. Thryvia™ was also well tolerated by all participants.
Preclinical laboratory studies using human cell lines found that Thryvia™ selectively signaled several innate immune pathways, including TLR2, TLR5, and NOD2, without signaling NOD1 under the conditions studied.
Research on Thryvia™ is ongoing as we investigate its mechanisms of action and potential to support digestive and immune health. These studies will help define the benefits of this first-of-its-kind precision postbiotic.
Manufacturing & Quality
Thryvia™ is manufactured in cGMP-compliant facilities operating under FSSC 22000-certified food safety systems.
Clostridium tyrobutyricum ASM19 is the subject of an FDA GRAS Notice (GRN 1129), for which the FDA responded with a “no questions” letter regarding its intended use in food. The species is also included on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) list.
